Trades Assistant, French Knitting
Abbey joined GBJ at the time the store relocated to its new spacious premises in March 2018. Abbey has been a high achiever in her jewellery classes throughout high school, and she is now in year 12. Abbey assists Rachel and Gemma, working mainly on Saturdays and some days after school. She enjoys cutting out the Geraldton Wax and Everlasting Wildflowers and is at the point where she can fully assemble a piece of jewellery. Abbey has also mastered the art of French Knitting the pure silver and 18ct gold which Gemma then makes up into jewellery pieces.
Outside of her part-time jewellery work, Abbey loves musical theatre. You will find her dancing most days of the week in her mother’s business ‘All Things Dance’, where she also teaches the younger students. She also plays piano and sings; she has aspirations to be on Broadway someday. Amongst all her ‘refinery’ Abbey loves to help out on her family’s farm at Walkaway and doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty!
