Rachel joined the GBJ team 2016 after having completed a 12-month Cert 3 at Tafe in Perth and having worked as an apprentice elsewhere for 12 months. Under Gemma’s guidance and with much of her own natural talent, Rachel qualified as a jeweller in August 2018. She won first place in the Western Australian division of the World Trade Skills competition, and came fourth nationally. Rachel specialises in all jewellery repairs and ring re-sizing, re-shanking and the like. She also enjoys making the Geraldton Wax, Everlasting Wildflower and minimalist Keshi Collections. Gemma calls Rachel ‘the machine of the business’, as she is able to keep up with making all the popular ring designs featuring Abrolhos pearls, coloured stones, silver with coloured golds and much more. Outside of the studio, Rachel is an animal lover and enjoys spending time with her pets, gardening and propagating plants. Rachel has a keen interest in tattoos and is always planning her next bit of body-art.
