Gemma Baker is a fourth-generation jeweller whose family tradition was begun in England in 1886 by Douglas Hubert Baker who immigrated to Geraldton in 1911. Gemma started her career in the jewellery industry as a teenager in her father's business, and she now carries 30 years of experience into her own business, which she established in 2007.
Gemma specialises in custom-designed fine jewellery, and her jewellery collections are inspired by and feature rare Abrolhos Island black-lipped pearls and natural-coloured and white Argyle Diamonds. One of her signature techniques is French Knitting pure silver and 18ct gold into wearable works of art, quite unlike anything the modern jewellery industry has ever seen.
